How It Works

A Simpler Way to Rent and Find Qualified Tenants

Metro Property bridges the gap between available housing and renters by connecting property owners with people looking for affordable rental options. We make it easier for owners to fill vacancies quickly and for renters to find a place they can afford.

How it works

Bridge the Gap Between Housing and Affordability

We’re creating a better connection between available housing and the people who need it. Our platform helps bridge the gap between vacant rental properties and renters looking for quality, affordable housing options.

For Property Owners
Want to rent your property quickly? List your available unit with us and connect with renters actively looking for a place to call home. We make it easier to fill vacancies, reduce time on the market, and get your property rented faster.

For Renters
Finding an affordable rental shouldn’t have to be difficult. We connect renters with available housing options designed to make the search easier, more accessible, and more affordable.

Our Mission

We believe there is an opportunity to solve two problems at once: helping property owners find qualified renters quickly while making more affordable housing options accessible to those searching for a home.

By bringing available properties and renters together in one place, we help turn empty units into homes.

How it works

For Renters

Find a Home. Apply Online. Move Forward With Confidence.

01 — Browse Available Properties

Explore our available rental listings and find a property that fits your needs.

Review important details such as rent, property features, requirements, pet policies, and other information before applying.

02 — Complete Your Application

Found a property you're interested in? Complete the online rental application for that specific property.

You'll provide information such as:

  • Personal details
  • Employment and income information
  • Rental history
  • Occupant information
  • Pet information, if applicable
  • Supporting documents such as identification and proof of income

03 — Pay the Application Fee

Once your application is complete, pay the application fee for that property.

Application fees range from $10–$75, depending on the property and screening requirements established by the property owner.

Please note: Application fees are non-refundable, and each property requires a separate application and fee.

04 — Complete the Screening Process

After submission, we review your application and verify the information provided.

Depending on the property and applicable regulations, screening may include:

  • Identity verification
  • Employment verification
  • Income verification
  • Rental history verification
  • Previous landlord references
  • Credit checks
  • Criminal background checks
  • Eviction history searches
  • Supporting document verification

05 — Qualified Applications Are Forwarded

Applicants who successfully meet the screening requirements are forwarded to the property owner for consideration.

We help property owners focus on qualified applicants rather than reviewing every application themselves.

06 — The Property Owner Makes the Final Decision

The final decision always belongs to the property owner.

They may contact applicants, schedule an interview or property viewing, request additional information, and select the applicant they believe is the best fit.

Passing our screening process does not guarantee approval or a lease.

How it works

For Property Owners

List Your Property. Let Us Handle the Application Process.

01 — Submit Your Property

Complete our online property submission form with information about your rental, including:

  • Property address
  • Description
  • Photos
  • Monthly rent
  • Deposit requirements
  • Lease terms
  • Amenities
  • Pet policy
  • Occupancy limits
  • Tenant qualifications and requirements

02 — Pay the Listing Fee

A one-time $200 listing fee is required to publish your property.

Once payment has been received, your property will be listed for the predetermined listing period.

03 — We Market Your Property

Your property becomes available to prospective renters through the Metro Property platform.

Renters can browse the listing and submit their applications directly through the website.

04 — We Screen Applicants

Every applicant is individually screened before being presented to you.

Depending on the property and applicable laws, screening may include identity, employment, income, rental history, references, credit, criminal background, and eviction history verification.

05 — Receive Qualified Applicants

At the conclusion of the listing period, you'll receive a package of pre-screened, qualified applicants.

Instead of spending your time processing every inquiry, you can focus on reviewing serious candidates.

06 — You Choose the Tenant

You remain in complete control of the final selection.

You can contact, interview, or meet approved applicants before deciding which applicant is the best fit for your property
